These Terms of Use ("Terms") set out the conditions for using the astrology, social community, and AI advice service ME-P (the "Service") provided by MetaGRIT CO., LTD. ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, a user is deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

1. Service Overview

The Service may include:

  • Astrology readings, fortune content, compatibility analysis, and personalized insights
  • AI-generated advice, predictions, summaries, and recommendations
  • User posting, emotional sharing, reactions, and other social features
  • Premium and subscription-based features

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service as necessary.

2. Eligibility

Users use the Service at their own responsibility.

If a minor uses the Service, consent from a parent or other legal guardian is required. If a minor uses the Service, we may treat that use as representing that the required consent has been obtained.

3. Accounts

Users may access the Service through guest login, Google account login, Apple account login, or other methods designated by us.

Users must properly manage their authentication methods and must not allow third parties to use their accounts.

Except where we act intentionally or with gross negligence, actions taken through an account are deemed to have been taken by the account holder.

4. Privacy

Our handling of user information is governed by the separate [Privacy Policy](./privacy_policy_en.md). Users should review and agree to the Privacy Policy before using the Service.

5. Important Notice Regarding Astrology and AI Features

Astrology content, AI analysis, AI advice, AI predictions, and related content provided through the Service are intended primarily for entertainment, self-reflection, and general informational purposes. They are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, repeatable, fit for a particular purpose, or suitable for a user's individual circumstances.

Users acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI outputs are probabilistic and may contain errors, inconsistencies, inappropriate wording, or incomplete information
  • Astrology and AI-generated content do not replace medical, psychological, legal, tax, investment, employment, educational, or other professional judgment
  • In emergencies, including situations involving self-harm, harm to others, medical urgency, or mental health crisis, users must not rely on the Service and should immediately contact appropriate professionals, public services, or emergency resources
  • Any judgment or action taken based on Service content is the user's own responsibility

Where required by applicable law or platform rules, we will obtain explicit user consent before sending personal data or sensitive data to a third-party AI provider for processing.

6. User Content and Social Features

Users are solely responsible for content they post, submit, share, or publish through the Service.

Users represent and warrant that:

  • They have the legal right to provide the content
  • Their content does not infringe the rights, reputation, privacy, or other interests of third parties
  • They do not share third-party personal information or confidential information without proper authority

Content made public through the Service may be viewed, quoted, reacted to, or reported by other users.

7. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not:

  • Violate laws or public order and morals
  • Engage in criminal conduct or support criminal conduct
  • Post or promote self-harm, suicide, violence, abuse, discrimination, harassment, threats, stalking, or other harmful conduct
  • Defame others or invade privacy
  • Submit false information, impersonate others, commit fraud, spam, or conduct excessive advertising or solicitation
  • Input, post, or send third-party personal data, confidential information, or trade secrets without authority
  • Use AI features to generate unlawful, harmful, discriminatory, exploitative, or rights-infringing content
  • Place excessive load on the Service, servers, APIs, authentication systems, or billing systems
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, gain unauthorized access, probe vulnerabilities, use bots improperly, or otherwise interfere with Service operations
  • Violate these Terms, platform rules, or our separate guidelines

8. Moderation and Enforcement

Where necessary for user safety, service integrity, legal compliance, or rights protection, we may take action without prior notice, including:

  • Hiding, removing, or editing posts, profiles, AI inputs, or other content
  • Issuing warnings or limiting features or posting privileges
  • Temporarily suspending, permanently banning, or deleting accounts
  • Reporting matters to relevant authorities or taking legal action

We are not obligated to monitor or enforce in every case, but may do so at our discretion. Users understand that the Service may include objectionable-content filtering, reporting tools, and abusive-user blocking features in order to meet community safety and platform compliance requirements.

9. License to User Content

Users grant us a royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable license to use user content to the extent necessary to provide, display, store, back up, moderate, secure, improve, and operate the Service and related AI functions, and to promote the Service.

This does not mean we may use personal information without restriction. Personal information remains subject to the Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual Property

All rights relating to the Service, including software, designs, text, images, logos, trademarks, AI prompt templates, UI, and databases, belong to us or to lawful rights holders.

Any permission granted under these Terms is limited to what is necessary to use the Service and does not transfer ownership of intellectual property.

11. Subscriptions and Billing

Some features of the Service may require paid subscriptions or one-time purchases.

At present, the main paid plan is the Premium Plan priced at JPY 300 (tax included) per month, with the first 3 months free, and automatic billing from month 4 unless auto-renewal is turned off. Pricing, scope of benefits, billing cycle, free trial conditions, and related details will be shown in the Service, in app store listings, or at https://metagrit.co.jp/en/pricing.

For subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play:

  • Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are governed by the applicable platform's rules and terms
  • Unless a user turns off auto-renewal, the subscription may renew automatically under the applicable platform's rules
  • Unless required by law or platform rules, we may not provide direct refunds ourselves

12. Termination and Account Deletion

Users may stop using the Service and request account deletion through the methods designated by us.

However, where necessary for unpaid obligations, legal compliance, dispute handling, or fraud investigations, we may retain relevant information to the extent reasonably necessary.

13. Suspension, Changes, and Discontinuation

We may suspend, modify, or discontinue all or part of the Service where necessary due to:

  • System maintenance, incident response, or security response
  • Failures of communications, external services, authentication systems, billing systems, or AI infrastructure
  • Natural disasters, outages, war, unrest, pandemics, or other force majeure events
  • Legal changes, regulatory guidance, or business necessity

We will provide advance notice where reasonably possible, but in urgent cases notice may be given afterward.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

We provide the Service "as is" and make no express or implied warranties, including that:

  • The Service will be error-free, bug-free, or uninterrupted
  • The Service will be free from security incidents
  • AI outputs or astrology content will always be accurate, complete, or useful
  • Any specific emotional, relational, financial, health-related, or other outcome will be achieved

15. Limitation of Liability

Except in cases of our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service.

If we are held liable for any reason, our liability is limited to direct and ordinary damages actually caused by our breach or tort, and shall not exceed the greater of:

  • the total amount actually paid by the relevant user to us during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
  • JPY 10,000

This limitation does not apply to the extent prohibited by applicable law.

16. User Responsibility and Indemnity

If a user violates these Terms or causes a dispute with a third party, the user is responsible for resolving that matter at the user's own cost and responsibility. If we suffer damage as a result, the user may be responsible for compensating us.

17. Changes to the Terms

We may revise these Terms when reasonably necessary due to legal changes, service updates, security measures, user protection needs, or other operational reasons.

If changes are material, we will notify users through in-app notice, notification, email, or another appropriate method. Continued use of the Service after such notice may be treated as acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.

Any dispute between us and a user arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of 【Court of First Instance】 as the court of first instance.
